Waterstones Greta Thunberg book illustrations

I was commissioned to create 3 bespoke prints to accompany the 2019 book launch for Greta Thunberg - No one is too small to make a big difference! The prints are currently in every Waterstones nationally in A0 size :) I have always been inspired by the topic of scale and how some aspects of life can often feel gigantic to some and microscopic to others. In my opinion the topic of climate change is one of the largest scaled problems we face, as Greta would put it, 'Our house is on fire!' Weighty world issues can kill your spark and make you small. Boundlessly bold and full of bonhomie. Her benignities are born with selfless devotion, in-turn sparking a youthful revolt. With a big bit of determination from such a young voice, the world was abruptly shoved into a positive progression. When illustrating my pieces I clung to the vibrancy of youth through colour and danced with the scale of nature. Each piece hosts Greta as the focal point, but I have tried to maintain the growth of flora and fauna, projecting its endless life and opulence. When I read about Greta's thoughts, her immediacy for action, gives me youthful spurt, once again reunited with my inner child. I believe a child's mind is plutonic and unscathed from influence, intuitive and perhaps more conscious then most adults. Creativity is rife yet literal, a fruitful podium for ideas!
