1zu1 Prototypen - Brand evolution (2010 to 2018) 1zu1 Prototypen is one of the leading companies for prototyping, series and additive manufacturing in Europe. The gigantic possibilities of the technological revolution from the printer are currently turning the markets upside down. 1to1 is right in the middle of it, as a seismograph and as a promoter. A perception that was focused only on prototypes simply began to fall short. Who are we beyond prototypes? How can we map technological change? The brand had to be reconceptualised. FROM 1TO1 PROTOTYPES BECOMES 1TO1 (FROM 2018) The reduction to 1to1 is fanned out with extensions: prototpying, manufacturing, tooling. The plus sign serves as a mathematical operator for addition, as a sign for positive numbers and quantities, as a textual simplification for "and" or "&". It also associates positive agreement. It resembles the Greek cross and can also be read as a coordinate, depending on the stroke width. As a registration mark, the sign stands for precision.
