Our Little Jazzclub Tiefparterre

This chamber opera is a love letter to the regional league of music localities: concert venues, jazz clubs and basement theaters. Places where up and comers crowd in and veterans can once again show what they do best. Too small to make a profit, too loud for the neighbors and much too irrevelant for the news paper’s arts and leisure section. The music café “Tiefparterre” is the pride and joy of the enterprising owner Donna. Along with her quick-witted daughter Luise, she struggles to scrape together the money for rent, electricity and deliveries each month. Inspite of this though, she feels highly rewarded; through the loyalty of her eccentric core audience and the gratitude of the artists who are invited to use her quaint stage to express themselves every night.
