As you can clearly see from my pictures, I have a penchant for morbid house facades. Here a door in the Tuscan light. The painting captivates with its layers of colour, which create a plasticity that can only be fully appreciated when looking at the original. This depth is lost in photographs or on a monitor. The painterly realisation was more challenging than initially assumed. Thousands of dots of colour had to be applied in layers to create this structure. An effort that was well worth it.
