Villa Orsi
A delicate balance and a continuous dialogue between the ancient and the modern; the idea that a project could combine and harmonize the historical spirit of a prestigious residence with the modern and elegant taste of the new owner, a young Swiss couple. These were the ingredients for the successful restoration project of Villa Orsi, a historic 19th century residence, located in the small touristic village of Cannero Riviera, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The works have liberated the Villa from aesthetically poor work performed in the '70s, bringing back to the northern façade its original symmetrical composition, with the porch and terrace, redeveloping new bathrooms and kitchen which is separated from the dining room with a double-sided cupboard system. Removing pain paint from the ceilings of the various rooms, revealed wonderful old ornaments and decorations that were carefully restored together with a restoration of the outside façade of the villa. The floors be it in wood or in Venetian stone mosaic “seminatoveneziano” were carefully brought back to its original splendor. Some furniture from the period was restored to its original beauty and carefully combined with modern pieces resulting in an ideal symbiosis. All colors were carefully chosen to make a perfect match of materials and surfaces. Villa Orsi is now available for rent as an exclusive holiday home.
