ZINNIAS

Study for "French Garden" Oil on canvas 55cm x 46cm I was a little unsure about this subject to start off with so I made a couple of oil studies to reassure me that this would be interesting to paint and it was! The lovely thing about painting outdoors in summer is that there is such a lot going on; the light is moving and changing, shadows, gentle winds, lizards, butterflies, humming bird moths and of course, the Zinnias with their very bright colours.
