Exhibition Design: Casa di Goethe Rome

Casa di Goethe interventioni 25 years Museum Casa di Goethe in Rome Interventions in permanent exhibitions are quick, playful and challenging – therefore an interesting method for revising or redesigning a museum. For the Casa di Goethe in Rome and the team around the new director Gregor Lersch, the 25th anniversary of the museum was a good occasion to introduce contemporary takes and new observations into the presentation of the institution’s collections, thereby connecting the museum with contemporary society. The various interventions take a new look at Goethe's Italian journey through today's eyes. Central questions concerning today’s Europe are woven into the exhibition on Goethe’s life and times, such as the tense relationship between North and South, the question of the significance of women for Goethe, or the memory of National Socialism.
