Göknil

She is a Turkish expressionist artist who lives and works in İstanbul. Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin was born at 1977 in İstanbul/ Turkey. She started her art education at an early age .She graduated from Beylerbeyi High School in 1991-1994. She graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting and 2001- 2005, she completed her Master's degree at Marmara University, Fine Arts Institute. Between 2001-2014 she trained young artists with her husband artist Fatih Sungurtekin in their private art studio. She married artist Fatih Sungurtekin in 2008. 2004 Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin was awarded 1st prize in the '' 8th Traditional '' Painting Contest on 'Sea' organized by Turkish Naval Forces Command. She won ''Naval Painter Prize''. She get the '' Navy Artist Title'' from Turkish Naval Forces Commander Özden Örnek. 2006-2004 Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin joined the Turkish Naval Forces Command's Military Naval Operations, 2005 '' Old Salt'' and made art works at the invitation of Turkish Navy Commander Yener Karahanoğlu. All these paintings were exhibited at the Navy Painter Goknil Gumus Special Exhibition at the Istanbul Harbiye Military Museum.Between 2004-2007 she made 30 paintings for this project as the Navy Painter için for the Turkish Navy. All the works of art produced by Navy artist Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin are exhibited permanently in Turkish Navy halls, museums and archives. Göknil Gümüş Sungurtekin, who received the title of Naval Painter and Honorary Major, was '' First Turkish Woman NavY Artist''. Göknil Gümüş sungurtekin paintings of art are exhibited in many private and corporate art collections both in Turkey and abroad and in museums and galleries. 2019 -2001 present keeps working on new paintings at her private studio in Istanbul.
